Kid Rock Tips Pizza Man $1,500

Posted by: CMT Blogs   in Kid Rock

Kid RockKid Rock is quietly charitable. And Kid Rock reads the Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper. I’m not sure which one of those facts surprises me more. Either way, this is a great little story of a random act of kindness from a celeb. When Kid Rock was in Ohio for a show, he read about a pizza delivery man who was robbed and left critically injured. So Rock sent the guy a check for $1,500. Harry Colyer, 28, was beaten with a brick and a wooden plank back in July. His cheekbones were broken and he now has a slight hearing loss. The good news, in addition to Kid Rock’s generosity, is that three people have already been arrested and charged in this attack.

Kid Rock Recruiting Martina McBride?

Posted by: Country Music Is Love   in Kid Rock

Martina McBride and Kid Rock

Kid Rock and Martina McBride might be pairing up…again. They surprised fans last month at the CMA Music Festival when they sang “Picture” together during the nightly concerts and now, CMT.com is reporting that Kid Rock may be recruiting McBride to sing on his next album.

Rock recently told the Detroit Free Press, that he would like to recruit either McBride or Mary J. Blige to sing on the chorus of a new song called “Care.” (That’s a pretty big strech…Martina McBride or Mary J. Blige?!)

He is currently working on the album and plans to release it next summer.

We can’t wait to see if they end up working together. We loved it when he paired up with Sheryl Crow!

I know that a lot of people will dispute Kid Rock being country.  I must say that I was a bit skeptical at first to.  He seems like such a tough rocker with a not so clean image.  Once I started doing a little bit a research and looking into who Kid Rock really is I think that Kid Rock is MORE country than most of our main stream county artists on the radio today!

I can feel the strong comments streaming in now……but I am ready for them!  I love Kid Rock - and think he would find a good home in country music.

A special thanks to Meg for sending us this link from CMT on Kid Rocks upcoming album:

Kid Rock has teamed with producer Rick Rubin for the follow up to 2007’s double-platinum Rock N Roll Jesus, according to Billboard magazine. Rubin’s credits include projects with the Beastie Boys, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Dixie Chicks, along with Johnny Cash’s American Recordings series. Although Kid Rock says he has 18 to 20 songs ready for the album, no release date has been announced. He also said his band is rehearsing some of the new material at his concert sound checks in case he decides to introduce it to his set list. Kid Rock won a CMT Music Award on June 16 for his video, “All Summer Long.”
