Kenny Chesney Looks Smaller in Salt Lake City

Posted by: CMT Blogs   in Kenny Chesney

Kenny ChesneyIn Salt Lake City, a concert just doesn’t feel right when it’s inside a stadium built for sports. At least that’s the conclusion after a Kenny Chesney show there Thursday night (July 23). The Salt Lake Tribune reported that since Rio Tinto Stadium — where Chesney played — was built for soccer, it is inadequate for music. “Despite great acoustics and a huge set with state-of-the-art lighting and visual elements, the stage, positioned at the far south side of the stadium, makes each performer seem so much smaller. Even someone like Bruce Springsteen, or an Old Testament prophet, would feel overwhelmed and distant in such a stadium,” the reviewer says. It’s certainly exciting for the artist to say he or she sold out a sports behemoth, but what about the fans in the way, way, way back? How exciting is it for them? It may be time to go back to putting the music where it belongs: in the theaters and amphitheaters built for music.

Posted by: Country Music Tattletale   in Kenny Chesney

Remember last week I told you that I received an anonymous tip from a reader who told us that Hank Williams Jr. loves raw eggs?  I thought it was a rather strange email but also thought it was fun.

Guess what……our anonymous reader is back and this week they have Kenny Chesney info:
The subject of the email is: I got a secret that has to come out:

Here comes the fun part:

However I can’t say who I am - Kenny Chesney hates fake finger nails

So there you go ladies! Leave the fake fingernails at home.

I hope that our anonymous reader keeps sending me fun little tidbits every Saturday morning. I would make this a Saturnday morning tradition.

Kenny Chesney Talks to Gibson

Posted by: CMT Blogs   in Kenny Chesney

Kenny ChesneyAnd by that I don’t mean he talks to his Gibson guitar. I mean that he talked with a writer at the instrument company. They talk crossover appeal (”You can’t play a stadium without having a lot of crossover appeal”), what might be next (”I’m still going to make records with a lot of guitars, but I do want to make an acoustic record someday”) and what it was like working with Willie Nelson (”That whole experience with Willie was like a big shot of B-12″). It’s a pretty nice little story, but then he has to go and dis Garth. In a question about whether he’d ever do something like Garth Brooks did with his short-lived Chris Gaines alter ego , Chesney said, “God, no. If I make a record, it will have my name on it. I’m not going to wear a wig, and I’m not going to use a fake name.”
