B&D took over for Taylor Swift’s “Fearless,” which slipped to second. Jason Aldean tops the Billboard country songs chart again with Big Green Tractor. Zac Brown Band was third on the album chart with “The Foundation.” “Hannah Montana: The Movie” was fourth and George Strait’s “Twang” at fifth….

How can Brooks & Dunn take an ordinary idea (young love turned into an unwanted pregnancy) and make it into a song I love and a video that makes me cry? This “Indian Summer” video tells a story that has been told before, like in Kenny Chesney’s “There Goes My Life” and with an alternate ending in Tim McGraw’s “Red Rag Top.” But when this duo gets hold of an idea, they take it a little deeper. Like to a place where the wind chases the leaves outside and passion finds a place to hide. It becomes not just a song about autumn and football season and ponytailed cheerleaders. It’s a love story that doesn’t have the quintessential happy ending. Hence my tears. But sometimes, in a good country song, the ending is really just the beginning.
