Taylor SwiftI certainly don’t remember what I was doing on Nov. 4, 2005, but thanks to the archival genius of MySpace, I do know what Taylor Swift was up to. She was listening to Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying” and writing her very first MySpace blog. And sure, she’s made quite a few career changes in the past three and-a-half years, but you can tell from her blog personality (her blogonality?) that she has managed to hang onto a lot of her cheerful, silly, teenage girl charm. She says that while recording her first album she and the drummer kept doing Napoleon Dynamite voices. And that she and one of the interns made photo copies of their hands and stapled them all together. But despite the goofiness, it sounds like even back then she was in awe of the talent around her, like producer Byron Gallimore, label head Scott Borchetta and singer-songwriter Scotty Emerick. Hanging around with guys like that definitely got Swift off on the right foot.
