May 11, 2009 — Jamey Johnson’s album That Lonesome Song was one of the most important releases of 2008, earning nominations in the Grammy Awards and the Academy of Country Music honors as he chronicled his emotional journey in the wake of a divorce. He’s won major awards for writing the George Strait hit “Give It Away” and his own Top 10 release, “In Color,” but he still gets quizzed on occasion about writing “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” a song that’s every bit as comical as “In Color” is serious. And Jamey refuses to apologize for it.
