  1. Although we don’t have thanksgiving here in Australia i tlatoly get what you are saying, instead of celebrating the Christmas season by simply being together, it has become completely overshadowed by consumerism, sales, basically shop, shop, shop! Every year i see my loved ones and myself get overwhelmed by shopping for the right gifts for everyone, spending excessively and trying to get it all done in time. This year i have decided to do as you have and let go of the giving, last year i asked that i didn’t receive material gifts and this year im going to go a little further and give either recycled gifts or physical gifts such as you are like treating sister-n-law to massage or going for coffee etc. Also this year when my family want to give me something im going to ask that they give donations for my favorite charity and sponsored kids. Above all im just thankful to be able to share a nice lunch together with family!
