Two boys, two years apart. That is not for the faint of heart. But I’m sure Kimberly and Brad Paisley will do just great. Their second baby boy was born Friday (April 17), and I’m guessing by now they are all home with their 2-year-old son, Huck. When I had my first two kids two years apart, I spent most of my days struggling and juggling baby and toddler needs: Nursing the baby while reading to my toddler, potty training one while sleep training the other, teaching the little one to crawl and the big one how to ride a tricycle. Listening to country music helped get me through some of the worst bad mommy days. But what helped even more was the advice from friends who’d been there: Get a tandem double stroller so they won’t fight. Put the baby to bed an hour earlier than your big kid. Bathe them together so you don’t waste water. Things like that. So let’s put our virtual heads together and give our best parenting advice to the Paisleys in the comments section below. I know they must be thinking that the days are long. But the years are so short.
